First Day at University of Toronto

King Edward VII Equestrian Statue

Just came back from my first day of class, and I’ve got some photos to share! It was an absolute blast, visiting famous spots on campus and getting a look at the historical buildings where my classes are held!

Campus is absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of places to take a break or eat lunch.

Nearby is Queen’s Park, where the King Edward VII Equestrian Statue proudly stands. There’s a vague rumour among engineering students about passing your first-year classes if you pet the horse, so I didn’t take any chances!

The Engineering Student Body at UofT is commonly known as Skule™, named for the original School of Practical Science (which was later integrated into the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering). This building was affectionately named ‘The Little Red Skulehouse,’ and was considered the center of non-academic student life. Nowadays, Skule™ refers to the vast network of University of Toronto engineers, a community of welcoming and wonderful people making huge impacts in every industry out there, from entrepreneurial start-ups to higher education. I’m so excited to be a member of Skule™, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me!
